Single-impressionradialmachineof continuous casting of slabs with straight-line crystallizer is designed for production of continuously cast slabs with the sections 1400×250 mm, 1600×250 mm and 1800×250 mm, with the length 8÷12 m from low carbon, peritectic and average carbon steels.
ThecastingofsteelatContinuousCastingMachineisdoneserially(notlessthan8 meltingsinoneseries) inthecycleofsteelsmeltinginElectricArcFurnace. Theregulationofsteelfeedfromsteel-casting ladle into intermediate ladle is done by the slide shutter of steel ladle.The intermediate ladle with the capacity 27 tons allows to change the steel-casting ladles while casting using the method of «smelting on smelting» without considerable reduction of the casting speed.
Withthepurposeofinsuringpermanentspeedofcastingandsafequalityofslabthecastingofsteelfromintermediateladleintocrystallizerisdoneusingthetechnology«underthelevel» acrosssubmersiblecastingcansensuringtheprotectionofthejetfromsecondaryoxidation. The required level of steel in crystallizer is maintained with the use of locking mechanism of industrial ladle, connected with the control system of the steel level. Intheprocessofcastingthecrystallizermakesthe reciprocating movement (swinging). The hydraulic mechanism of swinging ensures the exact direction of crystallizer swinging with respect to the axle of jet and a wide range of operating regimes – step length, frequency and form of fluctuations (sinus and non-sinusoidal).
Aftertherecoveryfromcrystallizertheslabcomesintotheareaofsecondarywaterandaircoolingensuringtheuniformcoolingofslabandprotection of its crust from deformation under the impact of hydrostatic pressure and including a series of roll sections for maintenance and slab direction After the secondary cooling the slab comes into withdrawal-roll and leveling unit. Aftertherecoveryfrom withdrawal-roll and leveling unit the leveled slab comes to the gas cutting machine, where the head is cut and its cutting into measured lengths is done. After this using the system of rolling tables the slabs are transported to storage yard. The cooled slabs are being transported by railway to consumers.
